I've been on winter break for awhile as I've said on my Newgrounds blog. But what I haven't mentioned is that I have been working at my job pretty much everyday since I've been on break. I'm trying to get in as much work as I possibly can because I'm moving into a dorm pretty soon. In addition to that, after break I start school, so it's taking up a lot of time away from developing my game. However I have still worked on my game, quite a lot actually. Here's what's new.
Cutscene's
Finding a way to make cutscene's happen in the game really puzzled me.
But after I wrote my ideas out on a white board it started to come together. I've made it so that the game allows for programmed sequences, and animated cutscenes. In the future there will be fire emblem style art work near where the next is displayed, to give talking a more interesting look.
Yes or No
Yes/No text, is just when the player is given an option of: "yes or no" and then is presented with different scenarios. I have a little bit left to work on with this but overall it's pretty much complete. It will play a big part in the narrative of the story, and helps propel the event-driven game mechanics.
The Story
Annnd then lastly, the actually story for the game is actually being written much faster than I would have guessed. The story is light hearted, but then also goes into some darker tones later into the story. It has not been edited yet, but It will be once all chapters are done. I'm having fun making all of the charecters come to life and It's like making another world. I'm starting to enjoy writing more.
I think that's it for the updates. I would show game footage but the new functions aren't exactly good on the eyes as of right now.
